Description

The MX239 mountain biking shoe is the latest version of one of our all-time favorite mountain biking shoes, for riders hitting the remote and technical trails. This evolution of our legendary MX238 is updated to include an integrated tongue to the medial panel of the upper for a firmer foot hold, ensuring that power is maximized into forward momentum through improved stability – a vital ingredient on loose and technical terrain.

The MX239 MTB shoe comes with a new fiberglass reinforced internal heel counter, creating a more stable heel hold, and has more spacing between the two BOA® dials to give greater zone adjustment to the forefoot area. It takes one of our favorite off-road adventure cycling shoes to a whole new level of comfort, fit and performance, with modern styling as standard. Add to this the Mountain Competition real rubber sole, and you have a mountain biking shoe that’s ready to take on any challenge.

Great shoe for MTB or Road

I have wide feet but not "hard to fit" and I find I like these more than my MX242. They're snug but not tight. I run double-sided Shimano MTB pedals on my road bikes, and MTB shoes so I can walk around easily off the bike. These are perfect for that but they're lightweight, too.

Shoes for Sasquatch !!!

Happy to get size 52 W 239,s to replace my somewhat tight 238 W size 50 W Lakes, not happy about the lack of padding at top where wrap around tunge rubs my ankle, hoping I can add padding to eliminate chafing where it rubs my ankle !!!???

Good shoes unless you have high bridges

I was really excited about getting these shoes but very disappointed as the shoe tongue would not close with my foot bridges. The MX238 fits much better for me.

If you liked the 238's, you'll love the 239's

I'm a huge cycling shoe nerd, I spend more on cycling shoes than bikes

The 239 fixes the common complaints with the 238. The heel is tighter, not as snug as the race last shoes, but better than the 238's which felt like slippers when you walked. There is still a little bit of heel lift while walking as you'd expect with an ultra stiff sole, but the heel counter in the 239's fits much better.

The carbon sole is as stiff as you'd ever want, and the leather outer has a slight texture to help brush off dust and abrasion.

The upper feels a bit more secure over the top of your foot, and the lowered toebox boa helps distribute the upper so that you don't feel like the shoes are only attached at your ankles.

Compared to the older 238's, I don't see any drawbacks, if you like those and they fit well, you'll love the upgrade to the 239's.
